You may have heard that this morning Mr Smith has made a strange discovery of debris on the school grounds indicating that something may have crashed over the weekend. What could it be?
We have held an assembly to discuss what might have happened, the police and scientists came to investigate.
The scientists interviewed the children today; here are some of the children’s ideas:
- “I think that an alien was in a spaceship and it crashed into school and melted”
- “I think a robot fell from another planet and brought gloop to this planet.”
- “It smells, a smell that effects only aliens”
- “Should we fix the radio we might get a signal and find out where it’s come from”
- It looks like a homemade rocket has made a crash landing”
- “Is it a message from another dimension?”
- “We think an alien crashed and fell off the roof into the field – then the alien dissolved into gas”
There has been more activity over night. What could it be?
We received this email from the scientists:
“Having tested the samples that we acquired from school today we have found there to be a substance known as plasma on the main entrance wall. This will need treated immediately by a member of staff qualified to handle hazardous materials. This solution is called anti-plasma. Having applied the anti-plasma it must be left overnight and scrubbed off 12 hours later. We hope these instructions are clear. If you require any further assistance or have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.
Regards The Scientists”
Because there has been further activity we have had to call an emergency assembly to see if the children had any suggestions on what it could be. They watched videos from eye witnesses and had some interesting ideas.
The assembly was interrupted by newspaper reporters who wanted to speak to the children.
The reporters took some children (mini reporters) to the scene to find out more:
The reporters spoke to the children about the strange things that have been happening; here are a few of the children’s quotes:
- “There are loads of hard drives” Joe
- “There was an alien on the roof of the church” Leah
- “I am just really sad for the school. I like the school and it has made such a mess” Evily
- “My grandad is an expert; he said it was a Mars Rover” Kian
Unusual activity this morning – It looks like someone or something has had a tea party! Who could it be?
We had another emergency assembly this morning and as the children were trying to work out what might have happened we were interrupted by the fire brigade.
They had been alerted to the strange events and had been contacted by the police to investigate.
They arrived in gas tight suits and took a team of children to investigate the tea party scene, they discovered a flag on the roof and the children have been asked to try and crack the secret code on the flag:
More strange activity today !
After another strange discovery this morning Miss Carney held an assembly to collect as much information from the children as possible. The assembly was interrupted by a senior police officer who had been informed about the strange activity at St Mary’s.
The police officer informed the children that after her colleagues had visited on Monday they had installed secret cameras in and around the crash site to see if they could video any unusual activity.
The children were shown the video footage – some very strange images were recorded, again the children had lots of ideas!
The police officer then chose several children (mini police investigators) to help her get a closer look at the evidence outside.
After all the evidence was collected the officer visited each class to interview the children and set a task – the children have been asked to produce a character sketch of the “subject”.
Very strange – everything seems to have disappeared this morning.
The police came to investigate and check the crash site.
The children settled down in class ready for morning lessons but were disturbed by something outside. The children alerted the police officers to sightings and the police, along with some children, checked the school grounds.
Again Miss Carney had to hold an emergency assembly, where one of the police officers had found a memory stick; when we put this into the computer a strange message was heard:
“My name is “Obb” this is a message for all the children, staff and parents at St Mary’s Primary School Blackhill, Consett Co. Durham. I would like to say a big thank you for allowing me to land my spacecraft in your grounds. Unfortunately I lost control of my craft and had to make an emergency landing. I would like to thank the police officers for keeping my craft safe, the scientists for helping me survive, I would like to thank the dinner ladies for the food and the fire fighters for finding my flag and most of all you the children for cracking the code. As you can see I had made a communication device so I can communicate with my mother ship.
I will be leaving you shortly, but I will never forget you.
Nanu! Nanu! (Which means – PRAY WELL WORK WELL)”
The police officers took several children outside to check the school grounds.
As the rest of the school came out the reception children spotted a white trail in the sky – was it the space craft leaving us?
Police officers interrupted our final assembly of the week to explain to the children that they had caught the alien and revealed its identity!
Take a look at some of the wonderful creative work our children have produced this week.
