This year Sports Day followed a slightly different format as the children were divided into their house groups. Instead of competing solely for individual honours, the children competed within their houses to win the inaugural St Mary’s Northern Saints Sports Day Trophy!
We held sporting events throughout the whole day. House points were awarded to children who demonstrated the 7 Olympic values of inspiration, determination, excellence, equality, friendship, respect, and courage. In the afternoon we held a more traditional Sports Day which parents and family members attended.
The rain held off all morning and the children had a great time even though we had a little rain in the afternoon it didn’t dampen spirits.
Thank you to everyone who came to support us!
A huge well done to all competitors for trying your best and competing with a smile on your face! The winning house from the relay event was St. Oswald and the overall house winner of Sports Day was St. Wilfred! Congratulations!
