What do people think of our school?
It’s always great to hear positive things from visitors to St Mary’s RC Primary School. Here, we celebrate some of the wonderful comments made about our school.
Chronicle School Ratings
We are very proud of our 5 star rating from the Chronicle!
Nick Gibb – Minister of State for School Standards
In February 2017 and January 2018 we received a wonderful letter, congratulating both children and staff on the very high levels of attainment made by pupils in the school. Fantastic news!
Maths Café Events
Parents and carers were invited into school to see what daily maths learning looks like in school. We had so much positive feedback from this event. Here is a selection of some of the comments we received:
“Thank you for inviting family members to your maths café. It is reassuring to all carers and family that the children are obviously so at ease and enjoy their learning. The staff should be aware of how much their work is appreciated – you all do an amazing job!”
“A real pleasure to see the children working. They spend so long in school that it gives you a good sense of how they work and how their time is organised. Thanks to the staff for taking the time to organise this.”
“Excellent insight into how the children work out problems and wonderful to see them working and interacting with each other. I’m so pleased this opportunity was given.”
“Very informative – way ahead of when I was school!”
School Tours
We are very proud of our school and welcome the opportunity to show parents and visitors the wonderful things, which happen every day at St Mary’s. Each year we show many new prospective parents around prior to admittance into Reception; it is wonderful when their first impressions match our judgements.
CAFOD
Every year, we decide on a charity to support as a school. As a Catholic school we whole heartedly support the work of CAFOD; they are an exceptional charity who work tirelessly to campaign for social justice, to ensure everyone reaches their full potential and to help those in poverty. It is always wonderful when the CAFOD volunteers celebrate the enthusiasm of our children.
