We use SEND as a shorter way to say Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in our school.
This section is intended to assist parents of any child who may require additional help with learning, movement, communication or emotional support.
When we wrote this report, we asked some parents of our SEND children their views. Some of the children also gave us their views and suggestions. If you have any questions about our SEND Information Report please contact our school. We will try our best to help you.
The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated on 13th November 2020.
At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we are committed to the equal inclusion of all pupils in all areas of school life. We recognise the diverse and individual needs of all of our children and take into account the additional support required by those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We have a written Special Educational Needs Policy which you can view on our website. Please ask school if you would like a paper copy or would like any information about the policy.
This SEND Information Report should be read alongside the school’s SEND Policy, the Equalities Information and Objectives and the Accessibility Plan.
